Consiste en introducir agua y productos tóxicos a más de 2500 metros bajo tierra. La presión rompe la roca e hiela el gas. “El líquido contiene una mezcla de 596 productos químicos. Se puede hidrofracturar un pozo hasta 18 veces. Se perfora el pozo verticalmente, atravesando acuíferos, hasta llegar a la capa de roca donde está el gas.
